5th Sleep Surgery Course

25–27 August


This is a course designed for ENT specialists and doctors/Residents in training who have an interest in the medical and surgical management of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). It aims to give participants a balanced and comprehensive view in the management of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. The course spans three days and consists of a series of core lectures on the basics of OSA, with lectures on non-surgical and surgical techniques with hands-on cadaveric dissections. This course is held in conjunction with the Singapore Sleep Symposium.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Assess and evaluate patients with snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea
  • Understand and formulate a rational non-surgical and surgical approach to patients with snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
  • Properly counsel patients on short and long term risks, benefits, success and cure of different approaches and techniques
  • Understand the role of basic and advance surgical techniques (nasal, palatal and hypopharyngeal surgeries) in the treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
  • Properly select and perform safely the basic and advance sleep surgical techniques
  • Manage patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea perioperatively
  • Understand controversies in the surgical treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea
